Marriage is inherently scary — Bridezillas, “till
divorce death do us part,” Harry Styles crashing your hen night — but no one other than a true visionary would chuck the Estée Lauder Pleasures blueprint out with 2012’s platform pumps.
Vera Wang’s dark Spring 2015 bridal video debuted today, and it’s unlike 98 percent of short films in the look-at-all-the-pretty-clothes genre. Caroline Brasch Nielsen, whom we last saw in a pink and fragrant context, this time picks petals off a black rose and lights up said rose like so many Cire Trudons. Her sisters/comrades sport matching “love” tattoos, bleached brows, and white eyelashes (so cool), and they all stare off into the distance or, for variety, straight into the camera.
Enjoy the unsettling — but oddly catchy! — soundtrack and the midriff-baring two-piece above, and keep in mind both come from the lady who once designed black wedding gowns.
