McQueen, Marchesa & Dior Star in Vogue‘s Spider-Man Spread

By the time Julie Taymor‘s rock musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark debuts in New York next year, it will be the most expensive theater production in Broadway history. And because no one loves expensive things more than Anna Wintour, the costly achievement already has a spread in in American Vogue.

Annie Leibovitz (and really, who else?) shot Jennifer Damiano, who plays the show’s female lead Mary Jane, as a damsel in distress. The actor and stuntman who take turns playing Spider-Man are also featured, but you know us — we’re in this for the gowns.

Still, we don’t know how many damsels walk around dangerous New York neighborhoods in gowns by Alexander McQueen, Marchesa or Dior Haute Couture, but for Leibovitz we’re willing to suspend our disbelief.
