Prometheus co-stars Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender cover W‘s August 2012 issue, and the pair is looking all sorts of sizzling.
And while we can’t say we’re sold on Mario Sorrenti‘s choice of eery blue lighting for the cover shot, Edward Enninful‘s styling is spot on. Theron is clad in a plunging Christian Dior number (a clause of her campaign contract with the brand, no doubt) and her paramour sports pants by Dutch duo Viktor & Rolf.
What we’re most curious about, though, is the timing of the cover, since stars tend only to say ‘yes’ to glossies when their spread is pegged to a movie debuting in the same month. Prometheus, on the other hand, has already been in theaters for over a month and the issue hasn’t even hit newsstands yet. A little too much competition from Tom Cruise and his tatted torso, perhaps?
There is, of course, also the fact that Theron fronted W just a few short months ago, so perhaps the editors delayed this particular cover to stave off reader ennui. This time around, however, she’s traded her lingerie for leather and sleek waves for slicked-back tresses. The accompanying interview is also written by Lynn Hirschberg, so here’s hoping the actress doesn’t rehash (or garble) the old same stories yet again.
