Looks like someone missed the memo that, despite the endless political brouhaha, Anna Wintour‘s ambassadorship is most likely dead in the water. Donald Trump called in to Fox & Friends to voice his support for President Obama’s alleged vision of the Vogue editor as ambassador to the United Kingdom.
“I think this is a favor to the country. She is a very, very capable person,” Trump told the hosts before noting that Wintour was a “very, very close friend” to both he and his wife, Melania.
“She’s tough and she’s smart and she gets it. She would do things that… nobody else could do in this position. This has nothing to do with the fact that I like her. This has to do with the fact that she’s very competent. She has done an amazing job at Vogue for so long… I think she would be an amazing choice and truly a great ambassador.”
All shock and awe aside, someone might want to check in with Ms. Wintour. Last we heard, she was “very happy with her current job.”
