If Lady Gaga is trying to get us extremely excited about her new album, it’s working. After taking a months-long hiatus to recover from her hip injury, Lady Gaga seems to have changed a lot. Every glimpse we’ve seen of her recently, every hint at her comeback, has been a far cry from the meat dresses, bleach-blonde hair, and bizarre makeup we’re used to. Yet we haven’t seen enough to know exactly what to expect.
Now, after her very naked, very natural photo for V Magazine and her unusually toned down “Pride Diary” shot by Terry Richardson, Gaga has released a new video called “haus life” to promote her upcoming album, Art Pop. The short video was uploaded by Gaga’s makeup artist and piques our curiosity about Gaga’s comeback in an entirely new way.
If you watch it below you’ll see that Lady Gaga merely gets her septum pierced. But there’s blurry footage, very un-Gaga music, and the star herself appears with no makeup and an over-sized black t-shirt. And at the end, the words “Art Pop” splash on the screen.
What is going on here?
Lady Gaga is set to perform a song from her new album on August 25 at the VMAs. With all the hype being built, we have no idea what it will look like. And we can’t wait.
