10 Important Things We Learned Last Week: April 24-30

1. The Royal Wedding was beautiful, but it made some people do crazy things! One guy tattooed Will and Kate onto his teeth, another ranted about Kate on Facebook and got banned from the ceremony, yet another did cartwheels down the aisle in Westminster Abbey, and Will Ferrell … well, just click here.

2. Bruce Oldfield did not design Kate Middleton’s dress — Sarah Burton did, and it was gorgeous! She also made Pippa Middleton‘s bridesmaid dress! There were also some pretty intense hats.

3. But the real fun began after the wedding! After some official portraits were taken, Kate (ahem, Duchess Catherine) changed into a new Sarah Burton dress and joined a few hundred people for what we hear was a really good party with yummy food. The cake had 900 flowers on it! (For everything Royal Wedding-related, we refer you here.)

4. Karl Lagerfeld built a chocolate statue of Baptiste Giabiconi to help promote his new short films for Magnum Ice Cream. He then took really, really weird pictures with said statue. He also does not wash his own hair.

5. American Apparel’s newest investor doesn’t think Dov Charney sexually assaulted any of his employees. But that didn’t stop said employees from suing Charney for a second time.

6. Tom Ford has new ads! And like the rest of his ads, these ones are extremely not safe for work.

7. The Gossip Girls are back in the news! While Leighton Meester is starring in a shiny new ad for Vera Wang, Blake Lively dyed her hair red and almost got her dress ripped off at a party. Seriously.

8. The international editions of Vogue had a pretty full week. Italy launched a cooking school, Japan shot Crystal Renn in some amazing hats, and Brazil got Kate Moss to pose in the buff.

9. Gwyneth Paltrow‘s new gig with Coach has her feeling like an all-American girl, but Ines de la Fressange said working with Chanel made her feel like someone’s grandmother.

10. The retail world went absolutely crazy this week! Macy’s is replacing 300 million hangers with greener versions, a woman watched in horror as a Victoria’s Secret clerk shredded a pair of sweatpants in front of her, and Daphne Guinness explained how (and why) she’s getting ready for the Met Ball in a window at Barneys.
