It’s easy to forget, in the midst of our ogling diamonds and dissecting necklines, that the celebrities parading that red carpet in head-to-toe couture at tonight’s SAG Awards are actually real human beings — not just impeccably groomed and genetically modified perfect physical specimens.
People’s Style Watch sat down with a mix of awards show attendees to ask what they really need with them as they walk the paparazzi’s runway, and the results are a nice reminder that celebrities do actually get hungry, and that being on the red carpet is actually probably a lot less pleasurable than watching coverage of it from, say, your couch, draped in a Snuggie.
Perennial bombshell Sofia Vergara requires a really sexy dress in order to feel good, and TV host Cat Deeley needs some sugar snacks to get her through the lengthy process. Jamie-Lynn Sigler tends to avoid high heels: “If I can, I will wear flats,” she admits. Actress Nikki Reed has been on the Hollywood scene for much of her life (she broke out in the 2003 film Thirteen, which she also co-wrote), so her admission that she likes to have a clutch on her because “it gives me something to do with my hands when I’m nervous” is particularly endearing.
