Let’s face it: even if one of the attendees at yesterday’s World War Z premiere in London had arrived in a neon orange, sequined, see-through gown, they still would have had a hard time getting the crowd’s (and cameras’) attention away from Angelina Jolie, who stepped out with fiancé Brad Pitt for the first time since she penned a piece for the New York Times announcing that she had undergone a preventative double mastectomy surgery. Thankfully, no one pulled any such stunts, and the carpet saw only a penguin parade of black and white getups.
Jolie glowed (doesn’t she always?) in Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane, cementing the newly overhauled brand as a go-to for her public appearances. But while last time we had a bone (or five) to pick with her choice of attire, last night’s sleek black gown with a mesh-paneled bodice was right on point — fashion-forward, but not so much as to distract from the woman wearing it.
Pitt, likewise, was looking better than usual. Still scruffy, yes, but not a grizzled or unkempt as we’ve seen him lately. Perhaps he got some springtime highlights put in? In any case, it’s a step in the right direction.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
