We know, we know — Elle Fanning landing on a Worst Dressed list sounds nearly impossible, but her
tablecloth Chanel dress really missed the mark tonight at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Unfortunately, she’s not alone. Let’s break down some of the looks.
Fanning loves wearing quirky, borderline costume-y ensembles, and she seemed to have a lot of fun on tonight’s red carpet, but the strapless Chanel frock was everything short of amazing. Even though the strapless floral gown had cool pockets, the print, embroidery, and shapeless silhouette were just unflattering on the 14-year-old. Even worse were the shoes, which were metallic Mary Janes with several straps. It’s almost as if Karl wanted Fanning to land on this list.
Another surprising star to land on the list is Amanda Seyfried, whose Marios Schwab dress was just too busy. The lace top was pretty, and so was the color, but the top paired with the pleated asymmetrical bottom was too much look. Famke Janssen‘s navy John Galliano gown was also bit of a mess. The sheer side cut-outs and the cascade of ruffles seemed like a something a contestant on Project Runway would create — and then get auf’d for designing.

this is some kind of spaceship or something.
