Seriously, is the week solely dedicated to having teen stars style shame us? Last night, the teens hit the red carpet at the Young Hollywood Awards, and boasted a roster of designer names that have us seething with jealousy.
First off, we never thought we’d see the day where a star of MTV’s Teen Wolf would be wearing Carolina Herrera, and lo and behold we find Crystal Reed in a sophisticated floral jacquard dress from the designer’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Then there was Reed’s costar Holland Roden in a vibrant floral top-pant ensemble by Ted Baker. However, while Roden’s sense of fashion is undeniable, she did partake in a hideous fashion crime as Bailee Madison showed up in a dress of the very same print.
Considering she covered Harper’s BAZAAR at tender of 20, we were less surprised to find Selena Gomez in a leather studded dress from this season’s Versace collection, which she paired with Jimmy Choo’s strappy ‘Madison’ sandals. There was also AnnaSophia Robb and Lucy Hale, who we’ve come to only expect the best from. Robb channeled her character, a young Carrie Bradshaw, in a voluminous white blossom-print dress, while Hale went for a classic black-and-white lace shift.
And it wasn’t just the youngins hitting sartorial high notes, with 40-year-old Alyssa Milano sporting a long-sleeved Stella McCartney jumpsuit with sharp cut-out detail. If this is an indication of an upward style trajectory, we’re totally on board.
