Right on the heels of a certain other royal engagement, Zara Phillips has announced she will marry longtime love Mike Tindall. For those not quite as royal-obsessed as we, here’s some context: Phillips is Prince William‘s first cousin, as her mother (Princess Anne) is Prince Charles‘s sister. This means her grandmother is Queen Elizabeth, and that she is currently 12th in the British monarchy’s line of succession. Anyway! She’s getting hitched.
The 29-year-old lives with Tindall, who she has been dating for seven years. Tindall is a rugby player and total commoner. Phillips is a decorated equestrian who launched her own collection of riding clothes for Musto Outdoor Clothing this summer. She broke off a previous engagement to jockey Richard Johnson in 2003.
While we wish the happy couple all the best, we hope they know there is no use trying to upstage the Greatest Wedding of Our Time.
