A Mini Version Of Katy Perry’s Met Gala Gown Is Now For Sale


If you were one of the small handful of people who actually liked the LED-light up dress Katy Perry wore to the Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala, then you’re in luck. Famed London retailer Selfridges is now selling a mini-version — with one catch: the price.

According to Grazia Daily, the dress — designed by CuteCircuit — is retailing for £1,350, or $2,077.

While they’re quick to point out that Rihanna has also worn one of their LED contraptions, we’re not sure why anyone would pay $2000 for a dress that makes you look like a bargain basement Lava Lamp.

CuteCircuit also recently came out with a dress designed to function as a cell phone. Made of silk jersey, the accepts standard SIM cards and features what appears to be a microphone and/or earpiece built into the sleeve. While we don’t really want either, we have to say that we’d be more likely to spend money on a dress that actually does something useful. Then again, CuteCircuit has yet to release a price for the cell phone dress, so…
