Man Crushed To Death By American Apparel Knitting Machine
American Apparel may pride themselves on fair labor practices, but a man was crushed to death by a circular knitting machine at a factory in southern California.
49-year-old Tuan Phan was the machine’s operator at the Garden Grove factory. An emergency call was made about a person being stuck in a machine, but Phan was declared dead a half hour later at a hospital in Anaheim.
AA has not yet released a statement about the accident. As far as we can tell, this is possibly the only factory-related death in the company’s history.
