Candies Gives Vanessa Hudgens The Boot, Hires Lea Michele

The first and last time we ever purchased a pair of Candies, Jenny McCarthy was their spokesperson. But they’re alive and kicking and after moving on from Britney Spears (who famously leaked unretouched photos of her own campaign) and Fergie, the brand has just shown Vanessa Hudgens and replaced her with the slightly more family friendly Lea Michele.

E! News reports:

“Lea’s fans are the same as Candie’s fans,” an insider for the fashion brand told E! News.

Lea’s rep could not be reached for comment and Candie’s has also remained mum on the stylish new appointment, though a source told E! News that Michele will appear in a series of print ads for the company later this year as part of her endorsement deal.

We have no doubt Michele will be paid very well for the gig, which might explain how a woman who wears Marchesa and Oscar de la Renta almost exclusively on the red carpet agreed to front what is essentially a cheaper version of Nine West.

    Vanessa’s contract was up with Candies, and she bowed out graciously, since she is starting her own line. You can’t be the spokesperson for another line while working on your own.

    thats crazy candies is for young teen girls vanessa looks young, lea doesn’t she shouldn’t be modeling for teen girls clothes

    brittney spears modeled for Candies and she was like in her late 20s when it came out and now shes 30 so if they had brittney spears do it then why not lea michelle, and besides Vanessa Hudgens isnt a teenager at all shes well into her 20s just like everyone else. if they want a true teenager to model their clothes well get Dakota Fanning or her sister but even they can’t do it for long or find someone in a casting call.
