Chelsea Clinton Says ‘I Do’ To Vera Wang
The rapidly nearing wedding for former president Bill’s daughter Chelsea Clinton and her longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky is donning upon us faster than we expected. While we anticipate pressing F5 on our keyboards to keep up with the insane amount of media coverage we’ll witness, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that inStyle has announced that designer Vera Wang was chosen to put together Miss Chelsea’s wedding dress. Since further details on the dress is unavailable, we can’t help but play stylist and gander through some of Wang’s current showcase to find the 30-year-old her dream wedding gown.
The designer has a separate website for her bridal selections, and after looking through the selection we came to the conclusion that the satorial relationship makes perfect sense – after all, Vera Wang’s career started off with a bridal shop. Dressing formal clients like Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham on their wedding day, Wang hits the target on having that fairytale wedding: the ethereal, glamorous yet simple bridal gown.
With that said, we believe that Wang will deliver for the young Clinton who, based on the years worth of photo archives of her public appearances, seems to have a distinct penchant for conservative wear. We can’t imagine her filling up the aisle in Cinderella-esque designs, but girlfriend needs to make onlookers drop their champagne glasses in awe.
Below is a brief gallery of Vera Wang’s Spring 2010 designs, including Styleite’s pick for the bride-to-be. For reference’s sake, we threw in a historical gem of her parent’s wedding:
