Cosabella Jumps Aboard The Jeggings Bandwagon

We’re not sure what to do about this denim legging trend. On the one hand: jeggings? On the other: convenience!
We’re suckers for a good pair of skinny jeans but there’s nothing we hate more than when the waistband and butt get all stretched out and you’re left wearing a pair of saggy-bottom, not-so-skinny pants. So jeggings make sense: you get the comfort and consistent cling only leggings can offer, combined with the classic chic of slim-fit jeans.
But…Cosabella? We love the brand for its super soft cotton thongs and the high-quality simplicity of their designs, but their decision to debut a line of jeggings seems more than a little gimmicky.
WWD reports:
The leggings will be available in two versions: a sleek seamless style with printed denim stitching running vertically along the exterior side of the legs, and a washed denim treatment with hosiery printed pocket effects and a Cosabella Jeans logo.
“They are a lighter weight, skintight option to denim brands that are doing legging-type jeans called jeggings,” [Guido Campello, vice president of sales] explained. “The leggings are an alternative to designer denim. They’re opaque and far more stretchable than brands that do denim [woven fabric] with spandex.”
Actually, the more we think about it, the more Cosabella might be the perfect fit. They know how to fuse comfort with quality and considering they’re retailing for $61 and $75, respectively, they won’t break the bank.
What do you think?
