Gwen Stefani’s Kids Line For Target Will Help Your Toddler Be An Individual

The wait is over, Harajuku lovers! Thanks to the enterprising people at Target, the babies and toddlers in your lives will be able to face the world dressed in singer Gwen Stefani‘s Anime-inspired clothes come November.

The line, called Harajuku Mini, is Stefani’s first foray into designing clothing for people who aren’t grown women with hefty discretionary incomes. It will include clothes for babies, toddlers, tweens and even boys which will retail between $3.99 and $39.99. Stefani, grateful for the extra revenue stream, said in a statement that the collaboration was “a dream come true.”

“I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the supercute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan,” Stefani told Women’s Wear Daily. “The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed.”

Harajuku Mini is considered an offshoot of Stefani’s more grown-up secondary line, Harajuku Lovers. Stefani licenses a fragrance by the same name, and in addition to that, she’s also responsible for the designer brand L.A.M.B. But Stefani isn’t the only designer who’s come to Target to design for the under-12 set. The retailer’s collaboration’s with Zac Posen and Rodarte included kid’s clothes.

“Our strategy of differentiation isn’t exclusive to our more mature guests,” said a Target spokesman. “We like to put the icing on the cake for all our guests. That is the fun, the flavoring of the assortment.”

What about little boys’ clothing.  After they are 2-years old, you can’t find anything cute or close to that.
