Iggy Pop Designs Line of T-Shirts He Won’t Wear
If it’s hard for you to imagine Stooges frontman Iggy Pop with a shirt on, then you’ll understand why we find his Barneys t-shirt line equally as perplexing.
Yesterday, Iggy celebrated the launch of his small collection at Chelsea’s Barneys Co-op signing autographs and taking photos with his beloved fans. The plush, soft t-shirts, part of Barneys rock and roll tees line called Archive 1887, are adorned with photos of the iconic rocker.
However, the real concern of this matter is whether Iggy actually plans on wearing any of his shirts. The equally curious folks at Fashionista broke the silence, and here’s what Iggy had to say:
“I wear them in the morning when my AC is too cold in my Ferrari–I always wear an Iggy and the Stooges t-shirt.”
But the rest of the day, especially if he’s on stage, it’s exclusively no shirt. “I stay like I am,” he concluded. It’s worth noting that Iggy was sporting a silk vest — with no shirt underneath, natch — for the launch.
