Iris Apfel To Sell Jewelry Line On HSN (And We’re Going To Buy It All)
UPDATE: Iris Apfel won’t start selling the collection until September 2011, according to an official press release. We apologize for any jewelry-collecting inconvenience this may cause. Original story continues below.
Once upon a time we went to an absurdly fancy party where style icon Iris Apfel told us she was designing a jewelry collection. And now, the thing that seemed like a dream is a dream come true: Apfel will start selling her line, Rara Avis by Iris Apfel, on HSN starting today.
The 13-piece collection is mostly made up of Lucite, mixed metals and beading, and according to WWD “fuses modern and vintage elements and features brightly colored chunky necklaces, bracelets and brooches.” It’s priced between $20 and $180. Apfel, who has a penchant for jewelry made without precious stones, said HSN was the perfect partner because they can manufacture some pretty good stuff.
“HSN has a proven track record to reproduce museum-quality jewelry and accessories at an affordable price, which allows me to bring my passion for the stylishly off-beat to the general public,” Apfel said.
Hey, that’s us! We’ve never shopped on HSN before, but we might change that habit just for this collection. Rara Avis isn’t available on HSN’s website yet (or if it is, we couldn’t find it) but as soon as we find images of it we’ll be sure to post it here. And then we’re going to buy it all.
