PHOTOS: Jessica Stam Might Want To Be A Designer
Jessica Stam‘s mini-collection for Rachel Roy‘s RACHEL Rachel Roy line will be in Macy‘s this month, and the model-turned-designer told Marie Claire that Roy didn’t hover around her during the design process.
“I had full creative control,” Stam said. “But Rachel really stressed that whatever I made should be something I’d want to see my friends in.”
To that end, Stam made a pair of jeans, a quilted bag, a belt and a checked sweater. It’s her third foray into designing clothes and not just wearing them. Stam created a pair of Repetto oxfords for the brand’s 60th anniversary and consulted with Rag and Bone on its spring 2010 collection.
But Stam is making mum the word when it comes to her future design aspirations. Asked if she’d design her own collection someday, she’d only say, “No comment.”
