Who wears short skirts? Not us, especially not after Paris Haute Couture Week‘s overwhelming display of below-the-knee silhouettes. From Jean Paul Gaultier to Armani Prive to Chanel, shrouded legs ran amuck. With the maxi dress’ epic rise to becoming this summer’s most coveted item, longer hemlines are here to stay, making the midi-skirt a trend that has inevitably followed suit.

For day or night, midi-skirts are versatile and flattering (though you may want to add heels if you’re petite). So don’t be afraid to — um, not — show some leg in this sophisticated trend.
