Hotel Vuitton? LVMH Moves Into Hospitality

LVMH, the parent company of some of the industry’s most important luxury brands — including Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Celine, among others — has decided to conquer the hotel business with the creation of LVMH Hotel Management.

WWD reports,

Two new Cheval Blanc hotels, named after the famous vineyard LVMH controls, are already under construction in Oman and Egypt in partnership with Samih Sawiris, chairman and founder of Egypt’s Orascom Development Holding. The two hotels, each with 30 to 40 exceptional suites, are slated to open in 2012 and “other projects are currently under study in exceptional destinations,” LVMH said.

Imagine walking into a hotel room and laying on Louis Vuitton sheets and lounging in a classic Pucci print bathroom. Your soap smells like Flower By Kenzo and your bellhop is perfectly buttoned-up in a well-fitted Thomas Pink dress shirt. You open your closet and voila! There’s a Givenchy gown, in your size. Okay, so maybe that’s a little extreme, but one can dream.

We trust that a LVMH hotel management company would exude the same extraordinary customer service shoppers have come to expect and love of their luxury brands.
