Would You Wear Bras and Panties Held Together By Magnets?

Panties come in all shapes, sizes, colors, fabrics — you name it, it exists. And while we enjoy the occasional foray into creative undergarmentry, we simply cannot endorse magnetic lingerie. We just can’t.

French company Lingerie Dement (which Google Translate tells us means “Insane Lingerie”) has come out with a line of magnetic bras and underwear. Cool Hunting sees this as a solution to panty-ripping as caused by reckless passion. We see this as an excuse for guys to never learn how to deal with tricky bra hooks.

More importantly, however, the garments themselves look pretty flimsy and uncomfortable (see for yourself below). Who wants to wear lingerie that has the potential to fall off with the wrong turn of a hip? We also have to imagine proximity to magnetized objects poses all types of hazards. Not to mention, the pieces are pretty pricy — a bra and panty set will cost you around $220.

Would you buy magnetic lingerie?

Considering that I’ve had the plastic clasps on front-closing bras manage to undo themselves while going about ordinary daily activities, I think anything less secure than that is a terrible idea for most women.
Perhaps if you are a pro working a hotel during a big business convention, only leaving your room briefly to pick up another customer? Then the price might even be justified as a business expense.
