Jackson Family Began Work On Clothing Line A Week After Funeral
Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy, and Tito Jackson — along with the estate of their late brother Michael — are launching a clothing line called J5 inspired by their time as the “so-called First Family of Music.”
The collection, which will feature replicas of the leather jackets Michael wore in “Thriller” and “Beat It”, will launch in the spring — and retailers like Urban Outfitters, Kitson Men, and Revolve Clothing are already on board.
According to WWD, T-shirts will retail for between $32 to $58, while the jackets will go for the much steeper price of $600. That said, the jackets — which Jackie called “the real thing” — will be designed by Rafi Weisman, the man behind the original jackets.
Jackie, who is the self-described driving force behind the collection, told the publication he’s “been wanting to do this for a long time” though specific conversations only began about a week after Michael’s funeral.
