Minnie Gets Leggy For F21 And Other Bad Cartoon Makeovers
Sometimes you just don’t mess with an original. First Mean Girls, and now Minnie Mouse – what is with this week, people? Disney has redesigned the cartoon icon for Forever 21, and the resulting rodent is totally creepy looking.
While they were going for “leggy, modern and glamorous,” Minnie looks downright skeletal. Like, in a Tim Burton kind of way. Says the press release:
The upcoming collection follows Minnie Mouse shopping in fashion capitals London, Paris and Tokyo in preparation for her line. Disney Consumer Products designed the special Minnie Mouse character art and style guide especially for modern fashionistas, just like Forever 21′s customers. The style is fresh and portrays Minnie Mouse in a whole new way — leggy, modern and glamorous.
Bizarre. The line is composed mostly of tees and accessories, and we have no clue who they think will be buying it. Minnie isn’t the only cartoon to undergo a major makeover in recent years — check out our slideshow below to see the worst offenders.
