Plastic Makes Perfect With Moschino’s New Collaboration

Of course while we try our best to steer clear of anything approaching a Croc, leave it to Moschino to remind us all that is cute about jelly shoes. Plasticly perfect for tromping around in come summer the brightly hued ballerinas are made entirely from interwoven recycled plastic, the result of an ongoing design partnership with Kartell–an Italian company that makes furniture out of the synthetic stuff.

While their last outing netted a chair, according to Vogue, this summer the two brands turned their attention to two legged territory, creating these colorful eco-friendly shoes appropriately embellished with the iconic Moschino bow. “The BowWow shoes are a result of this reciprocal influence and are both a design object and an accessible, fun fashion accessory,” said Rossella Jardini, Moschino’s creative director. Of course they bear quite a resemblance to their ultra-popular Brazilian counterpart–Melissa Shoes.

But hey, there’s no need to get jelly, right?
