Target And Missoni Set To Collaborate On Clothing And Homewares

After workiing with some of the biggest names in fashion, Target has set its bullseye on the Italian brand Missoni for its next designer collaboration, which will be out this fall. But the partnership won’t just produce clothes — it’ll make products to outfit your entire life.

Vogue.com broke the news this morning that the collaboration will be Target’s biggest to date. Some 400 items are in the works, including things that we expect (like dresses) to things we don’t (like butter plates).

Everything from clothes (women’s, men’s, kids’), to bed sheets, to enough dinnerware to set the table for colazione, pranzo, and cena—all in plenty of Missoni’s swirls, zigzags, and near-hallucinogenic florals. “It’s been a fantastic experiencce, ” says Angela Missoni … “one we are eager to share with families across the United States.”

And we’re eager to buy it! We’d been concerned for a little while that the only way Target could top its work with designers like Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier would be to work with Valentino Garavani himself. But a 400-plus piece collection from a major lifestyle brand? We’ll take it! The collection will be in Target stores nationwide from Sept. 13 to Oct. 22, so mark your calendars and start saving your pennies now.

Great…now every couch potato in middle America will be able to afford to look fierce…and will fail miserably trying. What do you think of these high-fashion brands going mass-merch? Read more about this designer collaboration @imeanwhat http://bit.ly/lUEM9o
