As a baby-scared twenty something, I can’t say I’m all that familiar with the wonderful world of maternity clothes. But lately even my highly untrained eyes have been noting that what was formerly muumuu-ish has been making a sharp turn towards the chic.

More importantly though, no matter the size or shape, we’re always up for stylish solutions to problems we didn’t think could ever be solved. To whit: how to dress a body that is changing faster than a model backstage at a runway show. Well, forget spending money on something you’ll probably never fit into again. Instead, in brilliant fashio-vations comes Rent Maternity Wear, a boutique that allows expectant moms to be as flaky and non-committal as the aforementioned twenty something and offers the opportunity to snap up a dress and send it back. The collection includes about 28 different occasion-perfect styles from names like Maternal America, Olian Maternity, and Fierce Mamas by Christian Siriano — we didn’t even know he did maternity wear! — and all are available for a one-or-two week rental.

According to the site, dresses rent for $35 to $85 dollars — which is totally reasonable — so you can put the money you would have spent on that dress on something much more practical… like a foot massage.
