Tommy Hilfiger has just become (an even richer) very rich man. WWD reports that Phillips-Van Heusen has just paid $3 billion for the American ready-to-wear brand. Hilfiger will remain principal designer.

But the Hilfiger / Phillips-Van Heusen merger isn’t the only transaction making headlines today. French Connection also announced the sale of Nicole Farhi to an L.A.-based private equity firm.
