Trans Am: American Apparel’s Newest Product Line
Via Funny or Die comes this video spoof of American Apparel’s super-sexed advertising tendencies.
(It’s worth noting that the brand just recently featured an adult film actress in one of their ads. No, it wasn’t the first time, last link NSFW.)
The clip features a soft-spoken and aviator-wearing Dov Charney lookalike coaxing a transgendered model into hilarious and hypersexual poses. “You’re an eagle,” he posits. “And you’ve just grabbed a mouse. Grab it. It’s a huge mouse and you have to grab it with both talons.”
Why would the already unisex brand need a specific line for the transgendered community? The fake Dov Charney argues, “Well, sometimes people need a little extra room in some places. We want to be the first national brand to offer them that.” Metallic lycra leotards for everyone!

P.S. While the video certainly made made me laugh, I have to admit that I’m somewhat conflicted over its potential to offend. What do you think?
