Zaha Hadid To Redesign Stuart Weitzman Flagship

With 950 projects in 44 countries, including the Aquatics Center for the 2012 London Olympics, Chanel‘s Mobile Art container, and Naomi Campbell’s house, it’s safe to say that Zaha Hadid has the world at her feet. And now, she’s working to make shopping for shoes to put on those feet a more seamless experience; the Iraqi-British architect will overhaul Stuart Weitzman’s Milan flagship in time for the spring shows in September.

According to WWD, the store will feature tech-y elements like display screens that turn into mirrors when a sensor detects a customer in front of them, and a muted color palette of “pale gray, flesh and white” — though we do have to wonder whose “flesh” they’re referring to.

“There is tremendous fluidity between fashion and architecture — we see exciting possibilities for much greater cross-pollination between the disciplines,” Hadid told the trade. “Our collaboration with Stuart Weitzman will reinvent this relationship.”

And even if you won’t been making the trip to Italy next season, don’t fret. The brand hopes to bring the same high concept design to their locations in Rome, Hong Kong, Shanghai and New York City.
