PHOTOS: Andrej Pejic Walks The Gaultier Runway In A Dress

Paris men’s fashion week is in full swing — and so is androgynous model du jour Andrej Pejic’s career. The blonde bombshell walked Jean Paul Gaultier‘s runway in a gold dress, matching sparkly tights, a fur vest, and a wave that would make Veronica Lake green-eyed with envy. But the best part might have been the nickname bestowed upon him by Gaultier himself.

That Pejic walked in the show is no surprise — Gaultier recently tapped him to be the face of his spring campaign — but that he walked the men’s show in a full-on dress makes for a wonderfully gender-bending surprise. The show was James Bond-themed — an interesting choice for a fairly androgynous show. Gaultier explained his inspiration to the AP after the show. “James Bond is an icon of masculinity, so much so that he’s become a sort of sex object — just like the Bond girls he’s seducing,” he said.

Enter James Blond, Pejic’s ultra-feminine alter-ego. The AP writes:

Then emerged “James Blond” in high-wattage glamour, with long platinum hair a cascade of loose curls, in vertiginous heels and a black trench, cinched at the waist with revealing nonchalance. As the “Goldfinger” theme song pulsed over the soundtrack, the blond Bond appeared again, an 18-karat icon in a revealing fur vest, packing a pistol of pure gold.

Genius. And what we wouldn’t give to see Pejic walk in a women’s wear show — or seven.
