Not only did we go backstage before Anna Sui‘s fall 2011 show, we also got to stay and watch the runway spectacle. And it was fun. Thank you, Anna, for reminding us why we love going to fashion shows.
From the classic rock soundtrack to models that actually smiled as they made their way down the catwalk, the energy at the show was totally electrifying (and the clothes were cool, too). Sui fused Art Deco with Art Nouveau, while also gathering inspiration from the swinging ’60s and groovy ’70s. Bright and bold, fun and funky — the all-star cast (which included Karlie, Lindsey, Daphne, Jac, Coco and Arizona) strutted their stuff in crazy tights, plenty of prints and a sprinkling of fur. Baby doll dresses were on the menu, as were Mary Janes and chunky accessories.
It was truly a joy to watch, and not just because Lindsey Wixson has the sickest walk we’ve ever seen. The clothes looked fresh, the models looked happy and the audience looked thrilled. A successful show, indeed.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
