Beth Ditto continued her reign as fashion icon supreme when she opened and closed Jean Paul Gaultier‘s spring/summer 2011 show in Paris yesterday. Ditto started off the show in a metallic laser-cut frock, and ended it in tulle and flowers.
During the show’s final exit, she burst into song and was joined by a 3-D glasses-wearing Gaultier on the runway. (Guests received 3-D glasses along with their invitations so they could use them to view the 3-D fabrics on display.) Ditto was not the only curvaceous model who walked for JPG — Crystal Renn made an appearance too.
Ditto set the tone for the rock ‘n’ roll-infused show, which included models sporting Joan Jett wigs, leather jackets and Doc Martens with the backs cut out. While the collection wasn’t terribly cohesive, it was currently full of ‘tude. And Ditto was, obviously, awesome.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
