Have you ever wondered how all of those gorgeous Brazilian models get discovered? If you grew up anywhere near a mall, at one point or another you may have been approached by some sketchy 20 something with a business card. He or she might have suggested you tell your mother and father how much you wanted to model — that you had such a perfect face and for $250 an hour, they would be honored to teach you the ropes.
Is it the same abroad? Are people in Brazil simply better looking? Like us, The New York Times was itching to find out the story behind the models of Brazil. What they found was an intricate look into the genetic makeup of different areas of Brazil, a nation so proud of their citizens’ beauty that they’ll allow scouts into grade schools to look for talent, and of course, a ton of hot girls. Most interesting was the juxtaposition between the Southern rural farm towns many of these girls come from and the high fashion worlds they’re trying so hard to break into.
