At yesterday’s Oscar de la Renta pre-fall show, the whole hot-dog-stale-hamburger debacle seemed to have been laid to rest when Horyn took her usual seat front row in the cozy, bright white studio space.
WWD reports that the critic was also escorted backstage to mingle with the designer before the show, no doubt to reassure him how very little the clothes brought to mind barbecue foods (although one look, we noted, would have been perfect for a chic afternoon of grilling in the Hamptons).
Asked about the dispute, de la Renta had a few gracious remarks:
“She came to see me before the show and I told her we probably approach fashion in two different ways. I respect her way and I hope she respects my way. My vision of fashion is for my customers. I read every single article she writes on fashion. I never hold grudges.”
Good thing, since those tend to get stale real fast.
