Yeterday, Derek Blasberg helped keep us normal people who weren’t in St. Tropez yesterday up to date on the ongoings of Chanel’s 2011 Cruise presentation. We’ve been captivated by the collection ever since photos leaked of Karl with some of our favorite models parading around the French Riviera a few weeks ago.
The product of Karl’s genius resulted in a film short, a star-studded runway show, and a lightweight, floral, 70s style and St. Tropez-inspired collection. Hide your credit card bills from Rodger, Rachel Zoe, there are some caftans with your name on them.
Crystal Renn without a doubt lived up to the hype that has been surrounding her, looking flawless in the three looks she wore down the runway.
The collection itself skewed a bit older — and as such we were extra pleased to see one or two old(er) models rocking the runway and, as always, blown away by Lagerfeld’s ability to make one garment be able to span the sartorial tastes of multiple generations.
Oh, and he was there too…
And of course, there were the guests. What would an elegant runway show in St. Tropez be without its attendees? Our favorite was none other than than great Andre Leon Talley who wore a bright green caftan. Here, Talley is photographed with Bruno Pavlovsky, the president of Chanel’s fashion activities and Maureen Chiquet global CEO of Chanel.
