Karl Lagerfeld‘s Chanel runway shows aren’t just runway shows, they are FASHION PRODUCTIONS. The Kaiser favors theatrical sets to stark catwalks, and his latest effort did not disappoint. Join us for Chanel: Under The Sea!
Last year Karl blew minds with an 80-piece orchestra, and this year he decided to have models strut amongst sea rocks and bubbles and coral while Florence Welch sang in a shell. Weird and wonderful! Magical, even. The clothes were characteristically lovely, and certainly befitting of the ocean theme with the frothy skirts, gauzy fabrics, and iridescent beadwork. The collection also involved two things that are of the utmost importance: flats and dresses with pockets. Practical and pretty, people.
