Sometimes we wonder if Vera and Jenny ever just sit down in a corner and (very gently) bang their heads against the wall. There’s no way we’d be able to do more with tulle than wrap it around ourselves mummy-style, but we assumed it’d still be mighty tough even for a matrimonial mastermind to reinvent the white dress every year.
Well, we thought wrong. Looking at these Fall 2014 frocks, you’d never guess designers had to rack their brains very hard at all.
Sure, making a wedding dress not white (or ecru or whatever) is probably the easiest way to switch things up, but the collections also contained loads of comparatively traditional options involving more illusion necklines and beading than 6-year-old, obsessed-with-figure-skaters us could even imagine.
We’re now seriously reconsidering our original plan to get hitched at City Hall (with a killer after-party, of course). Looking at pretty dresses kind of makes you want your own Pinterest wedding, doesn’t it?
