No one ever accused Anna Wintour of thinking small. So it comes as no surprise that as the creator of Fashion’s Night Out, she would want to go bigger and better in 2010. In an effort to do just that, the event’s planning committee has announced that they will be staging the biggest runway show ever in Manhattan.
According to StyleList, the show will take place on September 7th at New York Fashion Week’s new home, Lincoln Center, and will showcase Vogue editors’ favorite fall trends from some of the industry’s most celebrated designers.
So will the event showcase new designers or some oldies but goodies? No word yet on what designer pieces will be walking down the catwalk or who will be wearing them, but apparently over 200 models will be walking the Fashion’s Night Out show. Way to debut New York Fashion Week’s new locale with a bang.
“We felt it is important for people see what wonderful fashion will be in stores at that moment,” Anna Wintour said. “This show will focus on the key trends we’ve identified for Fall so that shoppers will have plenty of inspiration to join the fun during Fashion’s Night Out.”
1,500 tickets for the monster-sized show will go on sale this summer, with partial proceeds going to The New York City AIDS Fund.
