Fashion Wars: Justin Bieber vs. Nadji Jeter

Last night, two up-and-coming young performers attended the New Look Foundation’s World Leadership Awards. Both shook hands with Usher. Both underwent diva costume changes and then took the stage and performed to a packed house. And both are too young to buy cigarettes. While one of the young men is already significantly more famous than the other, they both have the potential to be superstars. Or at least that’s what their handlers want us to believe.

Yes, Justin Bieber and Nadji Jeter are destined for notoriety — whether that notoriety will be of the good or bad variety remains to be seen. But what was seen last night was that one of them is already on his way to actual style stardom.

The Biebs might have the adoration of fans across the globe (and the audacity to clutch Ciara‘s waist like he’s married to her), but Jeter is a real dandy. His ability to meld pattern and colors together impresses us and makes Bieber’s outfit look like a last-minute department store find. Jeter’s onstage ensemble makes Bieber’s performance duds look like he’s not even trying. In a battle between a bow tie and a backwards cap, the bow tie will always win.
