Givenchy Isn’t Showing A Spring 2013 Couture Collection

For the lucky editors who will be attending the couture shows in Paris in late January, there’ll be a big gap in the schedule due to the announcement that Givenchy will not present a collection to the press. It’s a sad day, you guys.

According to WWD, the house and creative director Riccardo Tisci are “tak[ing] a pause from presenting its couture collection.” WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Givenchy will keep making couture pieces for clients and will continue to dress celebs on the red carpet (we can almost hear Zoe Saldana breathing a sigh of relief), but there just won’t be a presentation at Place Vendôme during couture week as per usual. But look on the bright side, the house isn’t ruling out future presentations. See, the world is not ending!
