Flash Fashion: Gucci’s Fringe-tastic, Super ’70s Style

Milan Fashion Week is in full swing, and while word on the street is that Miuccia Prada put out out a showstopping collection Thursday afternoon, Gucci‘s tribal-inspired, fringe-tastic collection was nothing to sniff at. More importantly, the collection confirmed that as much as the industry keeps shouting about ’90s-style minimalism, the ’70s are back — and in a big way.

Frida Giannini‘s spring line was a mix of color-blocked separates, fierce and fringed dresses, and modern takes on utilitarian styles like riding pants and aviator jackets — all in a color palette that evoked smoky images of Studio 54 and Boogie Nights, not unlike Marc Jacobs’ jewel toned tangerines, mustards, teals, and royal purples.
