PHOTOS: Rose McGowan Trips Her Way Down Red Dress Runway
Heart disease is no laughing matter, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun job spreading the word about ways to avoid it. That’s exactly what a cadre of celebrities, including Minka Kelly, Chaka Khan and Christie Brinkley did last night at the tenth annual Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show, which might just be the most fun thing we see all week.
Every year the show, which is sponsored by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, assembles a group of famous women to walk down a catwalk wearing bright red designer creations. Naturally, the front row was almost as star studded as the runway itself — we spotted designer Diane von Furstenberg, Olympian Michael Phelps (his mom was in the show) and actress Phylicia Rashad among others, all there to support the mission of helping women take better care of their hearts.
But when the lights went down and Rebecca Romijn kicked things off, our eyes were glued to the runway. Sure, the dresses were lovely, but what entranced us the most was how energetic everyone was. The audience clapped for every woman who walked down the runway like she was a rock star (even if a few of them tripped, like Rose McGowan and Brinkley did), and every woman who walked down the runway looked like she was having the time of her life.
