Irina Lazareanu To Launch Vintage Inspired Clothing Line

Celebrities are on the outs, Tyra has returned to IMG, and Chanel has all but heralded an industry wide return to the cult of personality, so from the looks of things modeling is again en vogue. Super, right? We vote yes, especially since it seems to accompany the launch of clothing lines by some of our favorite faces (Kate Moss quite obviously included.) But if memory serves both Agyness Deyn and Coco Rocha have recently inked deals to design and now our friends over at Refinery 29 are dishing details on the forthcoming line from model/Lagerfeld muse Irina Lazareanu. (This must be the line Blasberg tweeted about back in March).
Named Rini and slated to launch in September, the line will have an vintage-bohemian feel with staples like flapper dresses, floral skirts, and fitted, shrunken jackets. No surprise there. In fact, she says much of the inspiration for the collection came during shopping pilgrimages to mecca of vintage amazingness; What Comes Around Goes Around. ”I would walk out of my house to get bread and milk and come back with bags and bags of vintage clothes, worth thousands of dollars!” she said about a recent spree. Well, coupled with Irina’s rock and roll sensibility, all sounds pretty darn good. Wonder who’s next? Stammer has a nice ring to it, no?
