As is her tradition, June Ambrose brought her daughter 7-year-old daughter Summer Chamblin to New York Fashion Week. On Friday afternoon, the pair were spotted at Leila Shams‘s spring 2013 presentation. We chatted with the celeb stylist and her adorable daughter after the show, and she joked about her daughter’s expensive taste in fashion.
Ambrose wore a black lace dress, white blazer, and a cute black chapeau while Chamblin went with sparkly sneakers, white pants, a chambray button-down, and her mother’s fave, a turban. She even accessorized with an Hermès Collier de Chien cuff. Of course.
“She digs in my closet for my Hermès and Chanel – those are the two pieces that she wants to wear all the time. I’m like, ‘Why do you take the most expensive pieces to play with?’ But that’s only during Fashion Week. Other days, she’s in uniforms for school. She actually starts school on Monday, so every year, this is her summer treat. She goes to school all-year round, so she deserves it.”
Chamblin was ready to get a close-up view at Shams’ collection, which included intricately beaded gowns, lace dresses, and tough leather harnesses, but Ambrose wasn’t ready to stop doling out the praises.
“She’s really interested in fashion on her own. Well, through osmosis. And blogging is really what I’m preparing her for. I’d like for her to have her own online presence, and it’s kind of a foundation because I want her to write. This is a creative way of getting her into that. Maybe in ten years!”
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
