Kanye West Designed Some Decent Shoes For London Fashion Week

If it turns out that Kanye can’t make this fashion thing happen, maybe he might have a chance at a successful career in the shoe industry. We say that because the rapper-turned-designer made a pretty decent shoe for the London Fashion Week presentation of designer Dion Lee.

Our friends at Fashionista reported yesterday that West is responsible for the strappy stilettos all the model’s at Lee’s hotly anticipated presentation wore, which means that lots of fashion people saw them while they were in London. It’s a smart move on Kanye’s part. His fashion debut in Paris last September got pretty icy reviews, but people went bonkers for the shoes he created for Louis Vuitton, and his Twitter rant of a month ago included lots of references to time spent in the Guiseppe Zanotti show room.

And now he’s making shoes — OK, fine, one shoe — for real. A spokeswoman for Lee said the shoes are a special collaboration for the fall season. And now we can’t wait to see what the shoes at his own fall show during Paris Fashion Week will look like. The clothes, however … well. Let’s just wait and see.
