Chloë Sevigny Closed Opening Ceremony Founders’ Kenzo Show
Ever since Opening Ceremony‘s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim were appointed creative directors of Kenzo this summer, we’ve been dying to see what the dynamic duo would cook up. The collection was presented in Paris today, and the pair’s good pal Chloë Sevigny closed the show.
Photos are trickling in, and we like what we see! Bright colors and interesting silhouettes punctuate the fun and fresh collection, and we have a feeling that bird print will be somewhat ubiquitous come spring. The newly brunette Sevigny wore the show’s final look: a bold blue jumpsuit. All of this is clearly a large but welcome departure for the French house — Leon and Lim certainly know a thing or two about what the cool kids want. The New York Times‘ Eric Wilson visited the Kenzo atelier earlier in the week, and he described the new scene as such:
Mr. Leon and Ms. Lim were sitting in a cramped makeshift office with a large white sculpture of a rabbit peering in at them through an open window. They showed a little animated video that transformed the Kenzo logo into a moving runway with dancing flowers and fireworks. Assistants were showing them samples, saying things like, “Très cute, right?”
Yes, trés cute indeed! Check out Chloë, as well as our favorite looks from the collection, below. Are you into it?
