La Roux To Open Vikor & Rolf’s Menswear Show
Attendees at today’s Victor and Rolf show are in for a little surprise. Word is Elly Jackson, a.k.a. female pop sensation La Roux, will be popping by the all boys affair to take her first turn down runway. Gasp, a girl in the boys room!
“I love suits,” said the flame-haird tomboy. “I wouldn’t feel comfortable in girls’ clothes.” According to WWD, for today’s show, Jackson will wear a Viktor & Rolf men’s tux, paired with the designers’ signature specs.
“We love her style. We love her authenticity. We love the way she plays with gender. So it felt logical. She’s right for our men’s clothes,” Viktor Horsting said. Well, considering all the Bible belt-bred controversy about girls wearing tuxedos to prom, this seems like a pretty relevant statement. Take that Mississippi!
