Formichetti’s involvement with Gaga is largely cited as having contributed to his being named creative director at Mugler in the first place, so it would only make sense that he would use her cachet to move the brand forward. The Lady arranged a remix of a song from her new album Born This Way to be played during the men’s show, and Formichetti says he plans to have it on the Thierry Mugler website today at 6 pm.
We try not to think of Formichetti and Lady Gaga using or profiting from each other — but at the end of the day they have very lucrative friends in one another. After all, Formichetti’s costumes are a big part of the pop sensation’s sensationalism. And he’ll be creating more of those costumes for her under the Mugler label:
Formichetti said he’s already created custom Mugler costumes for the pop sensation’s album art, videos and performances ahead of her album release on May 23, and Gaga will likely be more involved in the women’s ready-to-wear line, making its debut on the runway March 1 during Paris Fashion Week.
To us, it sounds like the beginning of a very fashionable relationship. But in the meantime, take a look at the men’s collection (Also: a low-quality recording of Gaga’s song! Is she speaking French at the beginning?) and let us know what you think.
